Formula
Fifteens are built by Formula
Sailcraft in Williamstown Vic. New boats are supplied
fully fitted out, ready to sail including sails by Irwin or can
be supplied without sails giving the option for the owner to chose
their own sailmaker.
There
is also the option of purchasing a kit comprising bare hull/deck
plus all the custom parts such as stainless steel mast base &
bow fitting, aluminium transom frame & spin chute mouth bar,
acetal bush set (for bowsprit & rudder pivot) moulded foils
and rudder box. All other parts to complete the boat are readily
available at chandlers.
The
class rules restrict the location and type of fittings used on the
boat and rig so as to keep all the boats the same. In most cases
brand substitution can be made providing the function is not changed
from the standard fit out. Standard boats include:
Mostly
Ronstan fittings.
Custom
anodised aluminium transom frame, spinnaker chute mouth and boom.
Custom
stainless steel mast step, bow fitting and chainplates.
Goldspar
mast (proposed change to carbon being considered by F15 Association,
June 2007 pricing includes carbon mast)
Carbon
fibre bowsprit and spreader sets.
Moulded
f/glass centreboard and rudder blade.
Monocoque
f/glass foam sandwich rudder box.
Self
tacking jib.

Level: Bare

Level 2: Kit Level 1 plus alloy trolley with wide wheels and

fitted : comprising fully fitted F15 with alloy trolley and
sails by Irwin, ready to rig and race. $22,440
