HARTLEY TS16 RESTORATION

Sail number 73, built late 50s or early 60s. Owner Mark Sahar from Williamstown Victoria.

Needed new bottom panels, outer keel, skeg & centre case. Also new bunk framing & bunk tops and new cockpit floor & framing.

The new bottom panels were glass/epoxy sheathed and the side panels sanded back to bare wood and epoxied.

Pictured right, bottom panels and outer keel finished, old paint being removed from side panels.

Pictured left, bottom spray finished in two-pack polyurethane royal blue.

Decks were sanded back to bare wood, coated in everdure epoxy preservative. Cabin top was sheathed in epoxy/glass. Decks are later finished in two-pack polyurethane Berkshire White with sprayed non-slip areas.

Right and below, custom built galvanized trailer by Formula Sailcraft to original Hartley design but without tilt.

Still to be fitted, side bearers, tow hitch and lightboard.
